Time to blog.

Warning: my crazy spell checker is not working so ignore any incorrect words...I don't feel like going back through and checking..Yes, it is time to blog. Actually, it's been time to blog but time has precisely been the problem. I don't know how everyone finds time to blog. I know that those who are home with little ones have no more time than I do working full time. Maybe if I had access to my computer during the day I could possibly find time but that isn't going to happen either. Oh well, I am here now blogging so that is a step in the right direction.
Since I last blogged, there has been many blog-worthy things happen but to keep this blog to a reasonable length, I will try to hit the high points.
During the week of Thanksgiving, my hubby and I packed up and flew the kids to Utah to see Hayli. It was a complete surprise for her because we never mentioned us coming there. It was wonderful! JoJo was in Utah so we were able to see him and his family. We also got to meet "the boyfriend". We have seen pictures on Hayli's facebook but we got to see the real deal in person. Poor guy had to endure a very interrogating first meeting with us AND Jody. It is interesting when you see your child "in love" for the first time. He is a nice boy AND he leaves for his mission in 2 1/2 weeks. He is going to Columbia, South America after 8 or 9 weeks in the MTC...(where Hayli works 3 times a week serving dinner to the missionaries) That should be challenging. Two years is.... well, two years! So we will see what happens. She still has a lot of plans for herself and things to accomplish over the next three or so years.
Club Volleyball season is in full swing and we start traveling next weekend. Our season goes unitl April. Even though it is very hectic, I am very glad that I started LG Lightning Volleyball. We don't have to worry about practices or tournaments on Sundays. It is wounderful. Our girls are very talented and have such fun together. Our coach is also fantastic. It has all been a blessing.
Young Womens is going great. I have two great counselors (which are both recently PG) and a fabulous secretary. Our YW are all so strong in their faith and very wonderful with each other. This too has been a blessing!
Christmas was FABULOUS! We got out of school on Friday, Dec. 19th, and Hayli flew in late Saturday the 20th. We had a very busy holiday but it was all I'd hoped it would be.
We had a big celebration the day after Christmas for Kayla's sweet 16! Yep, she turned 16 on Dec. 26th. And so began the dating life!(I don't like this part.)
School started back on the 6th of January and I needed about one more week of vacation. However, it was great to see my student again, who I adore. He is your typical 17 year-old but often times NOT so typical. I know that this job was an answer to a prayer and I hope I can make an impact in his life over the next several years. I know he has in mine.
Megan is getting ready to start her school volleyball season and baseball sign ups were this weekend for Chandler. Busy days. They go by too fast.
Next weekend Kayla is going to a friend's sweet 16. The girl is having her party at her grandparents house. I will post a pic...WOW.
I know many of you keep up or have at least read Stephanie Nielson's blog but if you haven't, start here and be prepared to be inspired to love a little more, laugh a little more, and live with a little more purpose...be grateful for every moment. My prayers are with that sweet little family.
