I do not plan on making my blog about Hayli's college experiences (wish she would blog, but no time for that) however, for those who I KNOW are interested in what is going on, I thought I would post a few pics I stole off her Facebook today. It is so interesting because they do the most random things as college students that some how is the "funniest thing they've ever done". There never seems to be a dull moment....I hope there is some educating in there somewhere :)
This was at the DI which is like the Salvation Army here....apparently it was a place they thought Hayli should see.

I am pretty sure this is a safety hazard and not law-abiding.

Bittersweet.
That is what it is when you drop off one of your babies (now almost an adult) 1500 miles away and hope she has learned enough to be safe so far away from you...of course she has, but you like to think that your children need their mommy no matter what age they are. I DO want all of my children to be strong, independent individuals but I still want them to need me a little. I think what makes the whole growing-up, leaving home, not knowing every detail about EVERY second of a child's day, bearable is that my daughter is having a BLAST! BYU life suites her very well. I do wish she would sleep more and eat more than a bowl of cereal for every meal ( she has a meal plan, money, and $150 worth of food gift certificates her daddy bought her, AND groceries we bought before we left BUT apparently it is finding the time to consume anything that takes longer to prepare than cereal that is the problem). I guess between classes, running, "tunnel singing", spoon playing, and whatever other crazy thing they seem to be coming up with to do until 1 am, is a pretty tight schedule! Luckily, the boys have to be out of their apartments by 12am and their lounge area by 1:30am. Seriously though, she is loving life and her roomies! She is already having some fun dates and I couldn't be more excited for her.
We had such a wonderful time out in Utah the week we were there. We spent a lot of time in the Timpanoga's and it was beautiful. We hiked up to Silver Lake which was breath taking! I am glad we decided to go out the week before school started because there ended up being a lot we needed to do and buy before hand.
We are enjoying our summer...it is a hot one! So far, when I come home from the gym I say, "I am going to clean up around here!" then somehow we end up out by the pool...oops, maybe tomorrow!
Hayli and Kayla have both started a Facebook. It is nice for them to leave little messages for each other and Hayli post pics and videos which I LOVE to see....I take any crumb I can get!
Meg is going to Cali with my parents to see Jody and Kelly and kids...actually, mostly the kids, she LOVES kids and can not wait to see those three. She will have a great time and I am really excited for her.
Kayla has already started volleyball and she leaves for EFY next Monday!
I hope the summer slows down some...I am not ready for school to start back in August. We need just one extra month for summer because it feels like it is just getting started when before you know it you have to start buying school supplies, clothes, etc.. I love summer. I will enjoy it while I can.
This is what my puppy was up to at the babysitter's while we were gone....

Recap
Okay, so a lot going on and I have yet to blog. Sorry. The last few weeks have been a crazy/fun/busy time. Jody flew in for Hayli's graduation and that was so much fun. He was only here for a long weekend and we sure crammed a ton in. So glad he came. Hayli was so surprised when he showed up at the gym where we were working out. As she is running the track he comes up behind her and she was freaking out! She had NO idea he was coming and it was great! Graduation was oddly not as emotional as I anticipated. I figured I would be bawling through the whole thing but it was just a few tears and I embarrassed no one. We had a nice open house for her the next day and I slightly over estimated on the food. We had WAY too much but that's okay. Monday Kayla left for girls camp. She is a 4th year girl and I drove her down (65 miles one way....ughhh!) I can't believe the way these girls camp nowadays. The YCL's have nice air conditioned cabins!!! The girls have COOKS! Back in my day, we had to cook all our own food. No wonder my girls actually enjoy girls camp. Megan, as a 2nd year girl went down on Tuesday. She had a blast and came back home with a scratchy voice from laughing and carrying on all week. I am glad they had a good time. I will post some pics from Kayla's camera later.
Chandler and I had a very nice relaxing week by the pool while they were gone. Hayli was rarely home..she is fitting all her social outings and dates into her last few days here in Georgia. Chandler has cub scout camp all week this week and I sure hope they keep those boys cool. It has been ridiculously hot here but I think it is going to be back in the 80's this week. Thank goodness cub scout camp is just during the day...I am not ready to have him be gone overnight at camps!
We leave in one week for Provo. We are excited to fly out but we'll be sad to leave Hayli behind. My one consolation is..she's going to have a BLAST!
