Bittersweet.

That is what it is when you drop off one of your babies (now almost an adult) 1500 miles away and hope she has learned enough to be safe so far away from you...of course she has, but you like to think that your children need their mommy no matter what age they are. I DO want all of my children to be strong, independent individuals but I still want them to need me a little. I think what makes the whole growing-up, leaving home, not knowing every detail about EVERY second of a child's day, bearable is that my daughter is having a BLAST! BYU life suites her very well. I do wish she would sleep more and eat more than a bowl of cereal for every meal ( she has a meal plan, money, and $150 worth of food gift certificates her daddy bought her, AND groceries we bought before we left BUT apparently it is finding the time to consume anything that takes longer to prepare than cereal that is the problem). I guess between classes, running, "tunnel singing", spoon playing, and whatever other crazy thing they seem to be coming up with to do until 1 am, is a pretty tight schedule! Luckily, the boys have to be out of their apartments by 12am and their lounge area by 1:30am. Seriously though, she is loving life and her roomies! She is already having some fun dates and I couldn't be more excited for her.
We had such a wonderful time out in Utah the week we were there. We spent a lot of time in the Timpanoga's and it was beautiful. We hiked up to Silver Lake which was breath taking! I am glad we decided to go out the week before school started because there ended up being a lot we needed to do and buy before hand.
We are enjoying our summer...it is a hot one! So far, when I come home from the gym I say, "I am going to clean up around here!" then somehow we end up out by the pool...oops, maybe tomorrow!
Hayli and Kayla have both started a Facebook. It is nice for them to leave little messages for each other and Hayli post pics and videos which I LOVE to see....I take any crumb I can get!
Meg is going to Cali with my parents to see Jody and Kelly and kids...actually, mostly the kids, she LOVES kids and can not wait to see those three. She will have a great time and I am really excited for her.
Kayla has already started volleyball and she leaves for EFY next Monday!
I hope the summer slows down some...I am not ready for school to start back in August. We need just one extra month for summer because it feels like it is just getting started when before you know it you have to start buying school supplies, clothes, etc.. I love summer. I will enjoy it while I can.
This is what my puppy was up to at the babysitter's while we were gone....

I'm so glad she is having a wonderful time. I knew she would. She is just such a fun, good girl and BYU is perfect for her. Don't worry she will ALWAYS need you! Plus you get to enjoy hearing all the fun things she's doing and boys she's dating. Love it! My mom lived vicariously through us in college and now we live through Alex. I'm so glad to have someone else to hear about!

We are so excited for meg to come out this summer. Not only will we have a lot of fun but I know she will be such a help. I hope she will stay here with us. Ammon is so excited she's coming.
