Funny kids.

I have such funny kids. Sometimes we will just sit around talking about things and making each other laugh. This happens especially when the girls and I are discussing boys. I feel sorry for my guys (Kenny and Chandler) because the girls fail to notice that they are not very interested in their new bra they got or other female particulars. It is very interesting because my girls do not have that "I can't talk about that infront of my dad" frame of mind. They never have. I think back now to when Hayli was very little and would ask her dad and I the most random things and Kenny never flinched. I believe this was imperative and allowed for the type of relationship that it never occurs to them NOT to tell him personal things. I think it is great and I am glad that he never acted embarrassed when they asked some of the things they would ask...even though we would laugh about it later. And poor Chandler gets an earful on a regular basis. Although, he is quite sensitive with girls. Speaking of girls!!! I am appauled at the amount of girls whose parents let them call boys in the third grade!!! Get this, the phone has been ringing off the hook for Chandler this weekend and on Friday a girl called to see if he could go to the Monster Truck Show at the Philips Arena with her and her family. Uh, no! He is in the third grade, hello. He has never called a girl and would much rather be outside riding his bike. If he's in the house he will talk to them but don't call him in for it. Funny, but kinda scary. Have girls always been this aggressive? Yeah.

I got to go to the Temple twice this week and it was wonderful! Saturday we went to a friend's home for wedding reception. My friend, Julie, made the food and it was her son's reception. It was fabulously done and I am going to post a pic of this veggie basket she makes. It looks like a bouquet of flowers but it is the veggies that you eat. It fascinates me. It is way cool! My skills are very inadequate and I'm afraid when the time comes (yearrssssss from now) we will have to have my girls receptions catered. I don't even want to think about that.

I can see Jody being the same way with his girls. He'll be the type of dad that wants to hear all the details. He already is more into Alex's life than I am! I love how open you guys are with your kids, hopefully they will never be afraid to come to you with questions or concerns. You need to write a book on how to parent teenagers so I can use the same techniques when mine are there. Chandler is adorable. I never called boys at any age. But some girls are really aggressive, those are usually the girls to steer clear of!

Love the wedding food! And your girls look beautiful, as always!

What a neat veggie basket! You're kids are SO cute.
I don't remember calling boys, but I think I must have in 6th grade or so because I was on the phone A LOT with a boy I liked. He may have been the one calling me,or a mixture of both.
I love how you describe your family dynamic! I just hope I can be that kind of mom when my kids are a little older. I don't want them to be afraid to tell me certain things that are going on in their lives.
